Hearing Tests

A physical examination of your ears will be conducted to check for any visible issues, such as earwax blockages, infections, or structural abnormalities.

This part of the test measures your hearing sensitivity to different tones and frequencies. You will be asked to wear headphones and respond when you hear various tones. This helps determine the quietest sounds you can hear at different frequencies.

In some cases, a bone conduction test may be conducted to assess how your inner ear responds to vibrations transmitted through the bones of your skull. This helps identify the type and location of your hearing loss.

This test evaluates your ability to hear and understand speech in a noisy environment, simulating real-world listening situations.

Tympanometry tests assess the function of your middle ear by measuring how your eardrum responds to changes in air pressure. This helps identify issues related to the middle ear, such as fluid buildup.

OAE testing evaluates the response of the hair cells in your inner ear to sound. A small probe is placed in your ear to measure the sounds emitted by the cochlea in response to external sounds.

Once all the tests are complete, we’ll provide a comprehensive evaluation of your hearing health. If hearing loss is identified, we’ll review the type, degree, and potential causes of your hearing loss.
